This game I focused on the design of the world and the transition from a fully functional space station to a tearing-apart-at-the-seams space station that makes it so the player must escape! Over the course of the levels you can see the space station having an increased amount of holes and tears. I made some custom tears to add to the overall effect; one of the tears is featured in the cover image.  I also wanted to iterate on the fact that the space station was in critical condition and you needed to get out quick, so I added a cutscene to show the player running towards a ship and escaping. I do apologize for the quality, I watched many tutorials and I could not figure out how to fix the glitching.  Other than that I was pretty proud of my game and all the effort I put into it.

Tutorial Modifications

  • Added a level two
  • Added a level three 
  • Added some design modifications
    • Added a red brick to signify the ship falling apart; the red gets more frequent throughout the levels
    • Added some vines for color purposes and for extra detail

Final Modifications

  • Added a cutscene of the player escaping on a rocket after leaving (Sorry for the glitching, I could not figure out how to fix it)
    • Added custom music to the cutscene
    • The cutscene features a timeline showing the progression of the flames of the rocket and plays the running animation of the player

  • Design/Level Changes
    • Changed the red blocks in each level to expose space; I think it fits the theme of "Escape the decaying ship" better. 
    • Added 3 "tear" designs to each level to show the ship being ripped
    • Used the background from my 2D Shooter as the background here
  • Main Menu Change
    • Added the rocket that is featured in the final cutscene to the main menu.
    • Added a script that makes the rocket fly around in a circle and rotates

Your proposed modifications sound okay, make sure that your two levels are substantially different from each other and perhaps add one or two more additional small story like sprite changes to help make sure you get full points for your third modification in your final submission. Be sure to be descriptive in these changes in your final submission to provide good reason for us to give points.
