2D Shooter Final
This game focuses my ability on level design. I wanted to make multiple different types of levels to enhance the user's experience. Levels 1-3 are normal 2D shooter levels, but I added and endless mode and a maze. I don't know if it's just me, but I love seeing maze's in games. I ended up making a pretty big maze that takes about a minute to complete with the instructions. In addition to the levels, I wanted to work on my digital art skills a bit so I drew a new layout for the menu screen. I didn't want to do any boring old space screen theme, so I made it look like you are playing on a computer, which I think adds a bit of charm to the game.
List of Modifications for Tutorial:
- Made the levels bigger (more space for the player to move around)
- I changed all the font to capital letters; I think it looks nicer and fits the theme of the game
- Added a third level
- Each level has progressively harder difficulty, level 3 being the hardest
- Each level has a unique enemy layout and a different number of enemies needed to be killed to win
- Added text to the instructions page
- Added an endless level, accessible via the level page, that features music I wrote in MuseScore
List of Modifications for Final Game:
- Changed the Menus UI Background to make it look like you are playing on a computer
- Modified all the text and buttons to make them fit the screen better
- I drew the background using ProCreate
- Added a Maze level
- This level features music I wrote in MuseScore
- The background for this level was drawn by me in ProCreate
- I made the size of this level much bigger to account for harder solutions (its hard but solvable)
